Tori's tired of her parents fighting and runs to the only person she trusts to help her; Jade. Rated K. One-Shot. Tumblr Request. Jori Friendship.

As soon as the yelling started I was gone, crawling from my window, down my tree and onto the ground. Trina wasn't too far behind me. She drove me without a word to her house, she didn't ask why I picked Jade, or if I thought Jade would help, she just dropped me off and gave me a look before I shut the door.

Looking around for neighbors out late, I walked toward her gate, hopped over it and walked to the tree outside her window, crawling up with practiced ease. Jumping from the branch to her roof was easy enough; I perched nervously and tapped on her window.

She was sitting at her desk, staring at her computer. I sent her a message on the slap that said window, it took her a few seconds to check and she looked over at me, not looking at all surprised to see me perched on her roof. She opened the window and helped me inside. Pointing at her bed, "Tea?"

"Please." And she walked away. I kicked off my shoes and shrugged off my jacket, crawling up onto her bed so I was sitting by her pillows, staring out the window absently. The arguing had started a few months after the Ponnie incident when I'd first assumed mom was cheating on dad with his partner Gary.

Trina and I hated it, we started out just hiding in each others rooms, but soon that wasn't enough. We started leaving and finding other people to go to. For me it was always Jade. She was up and she didn't ask questions. She also knew what it was like and I knew she could handle it.

Unlike Beck, whose parents were still married, and unlike Andre who liked with an aunt and uncle. And Cat was just too nice to bother with this. Jade, however, reacted perfectly. She asked what was wrong and listened in silence, rubbing circles with her thumb on the back of my palm.

"Here's your tea." She said, handing it to me as she sat down on the bed, crossing her legs and getting herself comfortable. I took it in my right hand and Jade took my left and instantly started rubbing slow circles on the back of my hand with her soft thumb. The tea was hot with honey and it calmed me down, making me feel sleepy as she slowly rubbed circles on my hand.

She took the empty cup and set it on her dresser, stretching out across her bed and pulling me down beside her. My head rested on her shoulder, one of her arms wrapped tightly around my back, her hands were laced together resting on my hip. One of my arms was tucked beneath me, the other laying across her stomach.

"Thanks, Jade."

"Anytime, Tori." She whispers. I close my eyes and thank the stars that Jade has become enough of a friend to help me escape from home. She hums a soft song, the sound vibrating through me pleasantly, helping me fall asleep and forget my problems.
