Drarry

He should've laughed, everybody else was laughing! Besides the Slytherins but they don't really count but Harry didn't find it funny. He couldn't see why everybody else did. He would never admit this to Ron but he felt hurt, almost heartbroken when Moody turned Draco into a ferret but he above all that he felt guilty. It was all his fault after all, how would Draco forgive him! He might not even talk to Harry again and that would break Harry's heart properly.

He didn't even admit this to himself but Harry knew he regretted the day when Malfoy offered him his hand but he didn't take it. Before he went to sleep he would always think of what could have been but it always ended the same way and he would just give up and try to go to sleep.

Harry was daydreaming about Malfoy again whilst Ron was going on about Quidditch. Harry didn't even like Quidditch that much he just played to impress Draco. Ron didn't notice, obviously, but Harry would still nod his head occasionally or say "That is so true!" and Ron wouldn't even notice that Harry was looking around for someone.

But this time it wasn't Ron who snapped Harry out of his daydream he heard someone sobbing. He told Ron he had to use the bathroom and there was no point in waiting for him. When he was sure that Ron was out of site he made his way to the classroom where he heard the sobbing. He thought it was just a first year who got lost but it wasn't.

To his surprise it was Draco.

"Dra Malfoy! What are you doing here?"

"None of your business, Potter" Malfoy spat the word Potter out and it was so venomous that Harry could feel that one word sting.

"I'm really sorry! I never meant for it to happen. I didn't want Moody to turn you into a ferret, I wasn't even laughing. Don't stop talking to me, please" he blurted out, all besides the last part he whispered it but loud enough for Draco to hear.

"What?" a dumbstruck Malfoy asked.

"I'm sorry!"

"No the last part."

"I don't want you to stop talking to me" Harry could feel a blush creeping up as he spoke the words but he had to tell him, he wanted to stop wondering and actually find out "I like you Draco, always have, you wouldn't believe me if I told you how many times I thought about what could've been."

"That depends, would you believe me if I told you that I did the exact same thing?"

They looked at each other and they saw what nobody else could see, the hate was just an act, neither hated the other. It was all fake and for the first time they both knew that they could do what they truly wanted. It didn't matter what the others thought, they just wanted to be with each other. They shared their first kiss that night, it was nothing like they expected and they left the room hand in hand.

Everything started that evening and it all started with a look. Just one look and they could tell, that one evening just changed their future
