To Tamriel!

The wood crackled as I warmed up during the cold Morrowind landscape, an echo of the cry of some animal broke the silence throughout the Lerwent forest. I've never felt so alone since I entered the land of Morrowind.

I was battle worn; my team's assault on Urshilaku camp was unsuccessful the previous night. We hadn't anticipated the amount of Alick'r soldiers to be held up in the camp, and even so, we expected them to be worn out, and not ready for a battle. This however, was not the case.

An extra Guard tower had been setup, Grimrel and Yarka were taken out instantly by burning arrow fire, and then their attack on the rest of us began, we managed to take out a few, but we couldn't do enough, there were too many. Only my knowledge of magic managed to save me, a Petrifying curse, giving me enough time to leave the area, and see too my wounds.

And now I find myself here, a ragged tent, a small fire, little food, little medical supplies and only a dagger as defence. "The forest is a battlefield of monster on a night" Grimriel's words echoed. All I can do is attempt to get some sleep, and get my bearings in the morning, and make my way back to Tamriel. A hard task for even the experienced warriors, I was not in for an enjoyable couple of days.

I awoke in the morning to the sounds of the local Morrowind wildlife, the fire had died out, and the smell of the burnt wood filled my nostrils, I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, picked up my gear, and tried to work out where I was going. All I k new was, I needed to return to our base and our people back in Tamriel, but unfortunately, my only way back was through Sunnygate in Skyrim, I needed to find a friendly town, to restock, get my bearings, even find myself someone who will help me on my journey, it all seems naïve and cheesy, but I need someone by my side, I don't feel safe in this land on my own. The local city of Maat Gann was nearby, so I knew where I was heading…

I had to kill what I thought was a stag, so I could at least have a meal that would give me some energy to get close to Maat Gann. Starting a fire this close to a settlement would be risky, so I had to eat it raw, and wise decision it seemed.

"Have the scouts returned with news of the Assassins?" "8 dead out of 9, the other assassin hasn't been seen since, is he worth our efforts" My heart started to beat faster at this point, they were still looking for me, "Sent out a team of 3, that should be enough to either have him killed, or brought to us" the General sounded confident, and from the tone if his voice, I knew there was a deeper meaning to the reason the Alick'r knew of our attack.

"Stop right there" I recognised the accent, I knew I had to do something, if went with him I would be executed. "Ok take me away", I turned around, to see his bland face, and with a quick movement, before he could even react, my knife hit him in the chest. I had to leave the body, if I'd moved it I would undoubtedly be caught again, and be killed.

I got around the Alick'r Camp, and entered a clearing, I was speechless, the view over Morrowind was Beautiful, it was times like these were I forgot all the bad, and had to enjoy the good things in life. I still needed to get to our base in Tamriel, and although the journey hadn't proved difficult so far, I knew it would get harder….

And as Tamriel's golden gates beckoned, the sky glistened, the sun was out in full, the Morrowind birds sang once again, and I was safe at last…
