Valentine's was a stupid holiday. Just another excuse for the herbivores to crowd around and make noise, as if they needed one. He could do something about it, but he didn't want to waste his whole day putting down squealing girls. So he ignored it.
It didn't really affect him, anyway. Of course there were always a few girls peering around corners, watching him, but none of them dared come close enough to offer him chocolate.
Hmph. Good. They should stay away.
In spite of that, there was no avoiding the Valentine's atmosphere. It was all set up so you couldn't go anywhere without being reminded what day it was – another reason Hibari didn't bother doing away with it. He usually took to the streets that day. It was better than being inside surrounded by flocks of love-struck fools. He'd still run into couples, though, and he'd wonder what it felt like to be given chocolates. Of course, he could buy them for himself, but that wasn't the point, was it?
So he was pleasantly surprised that evening when the little Chinese kid with the pigtail gave him a pastel-wrapped box. The kid did run away right after, but that was all right. It was to be expected.
Still, the kid was brave enough to give him a gift of love, and that made him surprisingly happy. He ate the chocolate on the way home, and it was good.
A/N: I don't think i can write Hibari at all orz. But i watched the Valentine's day episode a few hours ago, and that scene with I-pin at the end was just too cute. It made me wonder, though, if Hibari ever got Valentine's chocolate before, since he's so scary and all. And thus this fic was born.
