Percy and Oliver were walking through muggle London. They had finished shopping in Diagon Alley and had decided that it was too good a day not to go for a walk. The two were walking rather close to each other ocassionally brushing up against each other, sometimes holding hands sometimes not. The two were talking and laughing but couldn't help but notice the difference between the atmosphere of Diagon Alley and Muggle London.

In Diagon Alley - actually the whole Wizarding World - people didn't care about gay couples. There was no hatred, no prejudice. Being gay or lesbian was just as common and accepted in the Wizarding World as straight couples were. People had long ago stopped caring that. Pureblood families didn't care if one of their sons was gay as long as an heir would be produced and considering how some wizards could reproduce gay pureblood wizards had arranged marriages with others like them.

Not only was there that difference between the two worlds there was the difference on how the communities behaved. It had been two years since the fall of Voldemort and the Second War ended. The Wizarding World was beginning to adapt back to normal society. People had moved back to Britain and were settling down, getting married, and having kids. Hogwarts had been rebuilt and was back to its normal classes, admittance, and population. People would greet each other in the street and talk while they were talking. They no longer rushed from place to place.

In Muggle London it was a differnent story all together. Percy and Oliver heard people saying "freaks", "queers", "pansies", "disgusting" and "sin" as they walked down the street. Those were the nicer things people were saying. For Percy who had grown up in the shelter of the Wizarding World and hadn't had much experience in the muggle one until a few years ago was slightly bothered by what people were saying. Oliver who was a half-blood and had a muggle mother wasn't surprised and like always tuned it out.

Oliver noticing that Percy was beginning to get upset decided that the two should go home. "Come on, Perce, I think we've got enough air for today."

Percy followed Oliver back to their flat not saying anything until they were safe in the privacy of their living room. "Percy, are you all right?" Oliver asked when Percy still hadn't gotten rid of the poker face expression.

"I'm fine. I just had no idea that people could be so rude," Percy admitted.

"I know, Perce. You just have to learn to tune it out. That's what I do whenever I'm in the Muggle World or visiting my mother's family. Besides we should be glad that our world and both our families accept us. Who cares what all those other people think?" Oliver replied knowing exactly what to say to cheer the younger man up.

"Thanks Ol, you always know how to make me feel better."

"Of course I do," Oliver responded before hugging and kissing his lover.
