Love. It's a silly thing to think about but for me it's everything. The day I met Jace turned my whole world around. Now here I am, two years later with me in his arms. I smile to myself at the thought of me, out of all the people in the world, Jace choose me.
"What are you smiling about?" Jace asked.
"I was thinking- wait; you'll think this is stupid. I won't say." I said quickly. I know Jace to well to let something like this slip.
"What I won't laugh." Jace said with his signature smirk.
I sat up and looked at the floor. I know he is just saying this because he wants me to tell him.
"Come on C-"
"Why do you love me? Out of all the people in the world you choose me. Why?" I asked cutting him off.
He sat there for awhile thinking. He had a look on his face that was mixed of confusion and wonder.
"Clary, I love you because you not only changed my way of thinking, but you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. You're also there for me whenever I need someone. I love you for being you and there aren't many words to describe it. The reason I choose you was because you light up my world to new possibilities. If you can't see it, I don't know what to do." Jace looked into my eyes. The golden pools full with emotion. I leaned over and kissed him. It was a passionate kiss that seemed to go on forever. This great moment however ended thanks to Izzy.
"Will you two stop making out for one hour so you can eat. Seriously. Alec got Taki's so let's go." Isabelle yelled in her usual way.
"Come on, let's go before the she-devil comes back" Jace said
"I HEARD THAT!" Isabelle yelled.
"Now you have made her mad." I replied in an accusing tone.
Jace laughed and pulled me out of our room.
"Wait." I quickly said stopping.
"What?" Jace asked
"You never answered the question of why you choose me." I said skeptically.
"Well its quite simple actually. You see, a Shadowhunter like myself has to choose the best. The best for me is you."
I smiled and grabbed his hand. We walk down the stairs towards the kitchen. Before we entered, I leaned over giving Jace a kiss on the cheek whispering a quiet "Thank you".
Being loved. Its all I could have ever dreamed of.
