NEW EDEN

Commander's log, EMERGENCY DISPATCH CODE EVA98 TO BIG BROTHER.

Day: 283 since est. Ramirez Laredo, Commander of RAR station 73: New Eden, log 1.

As this is my first log as leader of New Eden, I will follow tradition and give a brief history of this research and recovery station. New Eden was established shortly after the original Infection of Fairfield with the mission of studying the virus and it's infected, as well as to protect the human population living inside of its borders. So far no cure or vaccine has been developed to prevent or cure the virus though we have learned a lot about the infected.-LOG END-

Day: 298. We have discovered something that may just be a cure for the infection as well as a vaccine. We have started trials of the chemical [Hz 38] by recently infected individuals and persons convicted of killing others in the borders of the station, telling them they would be set free if they survived. It is highly unlikely any will.-LOG END-

Day: 300. The 300th day marker since the establishment of New Eden. This is a day that is a great honor to be in charge of this station and for the development of the drug now called EVE that is more vaccine than cure for the virus. Any recently infected individual that takes the drug seem to retain speech and memories from their former selves but not control. Any infected individual that has been completely turned will –LOG INTERUPTED-

Day: 325. The drug is showing extreme effectiveness in the field, preventing 98% off all attempts to infect the crews that we have sent out to remove the infection of any and all infected around the perimeter of the station. There have been no reported side effects so far which is highly unusual.

Day: 339. {You see the face of a young British man who is clearly undergoing infection, the veins near his eyes are bluish and his irises are blood red. The man then speaks, showing that this is a video recording.} My name is Ramirez Laredo, and if you are watching this, be warned. Research and Recovery Station 73: New Eden is now a hot spot of infected. The drug, Trojan, covers up the symptoms of the Infection, not cures them. We did not find that out until around half a week ago, four days. It was then that Trojan's effectiveness ended and everyone who had been infected while taking Trojan was instantly mutated into extreme infection forms and went to the closest food source, the station. We lasted out for three days before they broke in. It took them a day to reach me in the central control room, where I was infected three hours ago. I have barricaded the door and all openings but my own supply of Trojan is limited and I am only saying this message by its use. I am on the last bottle by taking the drug in extreme amounts. This is a warning to all; the cure is wurse than the disease. If you enkountr or puzess any Trojan dug…rremoove it….Ichy….Noooooo… {The video ends with the man typing in a command into the computer with difficulty and placing a gun to his head before pulling the trigger.}
