Silverleap padded quietly through AmberClan's hunting grounds when she heard soft wailing and a stench of twoleg hit her nose in waves. It sounds young, The silver she-cat thought. It's probably a kit. I'll fetch some others to head over there.

Once back at camp, Silverleap called Ratscar, her son, and Soulpaw, her apprentice, to check where the scent is coming from. "I think it's at the Great Oak." Silverleap reported on the way out of camp.

"What will we do when we get there?" Soulpaw asked Silverleap. The golden she-cat always had to ask questions. Ratscar, for once nodded agreement in Soulpaw's question.

"Depends. If it's a kit, we lead it to the horseplace. If it's an adult, we fight it. And through it all we pray to StarClan no other Clans are there. It is, of course, the Gathering place." Silverleap replied, her gaze fixed on the Oak Path. Poor Ratscar, given such a gruesome name when he can't even talk! A pang of guilt shook Silverleap. My own kit, born half mute, only able to purr, and injured so severely on his first battle he's fully mute. Silverleap shook the guilt away.

Once the trio reached the Great Oak, they spotted a twoleg kit huddled at the foot of the massive tree. This wasn't the first time AmberClan has seen this, and they already know what to do. Bring the kit to the horseplace to give to adult twolegs.

The cats nodded to each other and began coaxing the kit to get up and follow. The kit continuously got distracted and Silverleap noticed that this was the hardest kit to coax from the camp to StarClan!

They began at sunhigh and made it to the horseplace with a tired twoleg kit by sunset. All the cats had sore throats from purring so hard, so much in one day, except for Ratscar, of course, but he had sore legs from all the bouncing around.

When the patrol finally got back to camp, Rockstar, the leader of AmberClan made Soulpaw a warrior for her contribution. "Your new name shall be Soulpelt. StarClan honours your bravery and patience. We welcome you as a full member of AmberClan." Rockstar had purred to his daughter.

"Soulpelt! Soulpelt!" the Clan called out the new warrior's name in the coming night. Silverleap padded up to her former apprentice and led her to the Watch Rock. "You sit your vigil here. I'll get you in the morning." the silver she-cat mewed. At last, peace. Silverleap breathed a sigh of relief. But how long will it last?
