Everest sat in her pup house up in Jake's mountain. The front door was open, and she was staring out into the darkness. Her right paw rested on a flashlight, and she was clicking it on and off, off and on. The flashlight's beam shone out into the area before her, illuminating the nearby road and trees.
He will come back. . .
"Everest," Jake said softly and with concern as he knelt down to pet the pup gently across her back, "What is it that you think you've been seeing?"
Everest closed her eyes and shuddered.
He always does. . .
"What game do you think you are playing?!" Everest screamed out into the darkness.
She clicked on her flashlight, and she just spotted the figure of a man with long hair ducking behind the trees.
She has yet to meet him. . .
"What have you all been keeping from me?!" Everest demanded, glaring at all of the humans and pups gathered in the Lookout.
Close the doors. . .
Everest slowly opened the door and peeked into one of cabins that Jake's Mountain Resort was known for. She turned on the light and saw a married couple an a little boy standing with blank expressions and a hole in each of their heads.
Everest immediately slammed the door closed.
Answer the phone. . .
Everest saw that Jake's smartphone was ringing. Jake had just stepped out, so she figured it wouldn't hurt to answer it for him.
She tapped the touch screen, and an image of Marshall tide to a chair with two black eyes; a half broken jaw; one of his ears ripped off; burned and skinned hindquarters; and scratches, bruises, and cuts all over his body appeared on the screen.
It was once a place of joy. . .
Everest looked up at the abandoned, dilapidated building.
But not anymore. . .
She took a deep breath, and then walked through the pried open door and into the Tiki Snack Shack.

Yes, this is going to be a sequel to "Zuma's Fear" by HavocHound; yes, I got permission from HavocHound to do this; and yes, I drew inspiration from the Five Nights at Freddy's Trailers.
No, this is not going to be a Five Night's at Freddy's crossover.
