I wrote this after doing a current events project for school.

Hyeong is Korean for "older brother" when spoken by a male…I think. I googled it so if I am incorrect then please let me know and I will change it.

"Good morning, boss. Uri nara mansae. How are we today?" Im Yong Soo happily chirped.

"Good morning, sir." His boss replied. "Well, we have some concerning news regarding foreign affairs."

"Is it the north?"

"I'm afraid so."

There was a pause. "Screw him, screw North Korea! I don't even want to know what he did now! What did he do? Way to ruin my good mood, hyeong."

"Well, I think we should monitor our seafaring a little better from now on." His boss said as he stared at the floor.

"What did hyeong do?"

"One of our fishing boats has been captured. Claims lead us to believe it was the north." Im Yong Soo looked worried at this. "At least one." he added as Im Yong Soo filled with rage.

"My blasted older brother! Oh how I long for the days of the past, when he and I were still together. But now look what has happened to his inferior civilization. It has completely deteriorated!"

"Im Yong Soo calm down. You're getting all worked up. All siblings fight. Look at the Russians, the Germans, the Italians, the North Americans, and the list goes on."

"But why is it so much worse for us?"

"Who says it is? Maybe this is just the first time you're seeing a fight like this from a first-person perspective."

"What proof do you have?"

"I've been around for a while."

"So have I." Yong Soo looked up at him pleading. "I've been around way longer."

"I suggest you talk to someone with a sibling about this. Someone you could trust."

"You mean like China? I'm sure she will listen to me!"

"I don't think it is a good idea to talk to Yao Wang on this matter. She has been siding with the north for quite some time now, and I am afraid that she might turn on us." Im Yong Soo stared at him, contemplating what he had just said.

"Why would Yao Wang side with the north? It's not like his people are even happy."

"A good speaker can accomplish anything, have we not learned that from Germany? But there were many factors that contributed to this, and Yao Wang seems to be stressed."

"At one point, I had the entire UN on my side."

"Why do you bring that up?"

"I'm just remembering how we started fighting. After Honda Kiku stopped bullying us, all of the sudden I found myself under the 'care' of Alfred Jones. Such a strange foreigner. Although I suppose I should thank him for separating me from the north. And then Ivan Braginski took over him." Im Yong Soo started to explain, as if his boss hadn't already known. But getting this off of his chest would be good for him. "We started fighting after Alfred Jones handed me over to the UN to raise me as a full nation. When they thought that I was ready to stand on my own, and started pulling out, hyeong attacked."

"But then Yao Wang and Ivan Braginski started supporting the north, and his quest to conquer the entire peninsula."

"Why does he want to conquer me?"

"Maybe he doesn't, but he can't stand up against what her people want, and what Ivan Braginski and Yao Wang want."

"You think so?"

"It's just a thought."

"Seoul, the spirit of Korea, was captured. We gave up. My people could not fight. I was thankful to my friends in the UN for setting me free but I don't think I was ready to deal with him yet."

"But the war ended."

"Then why are we still fighting?"

"Neither one of you, plus Alfred Jones, trusts each other."

"And hyeong could possibly be harvesting nuclear weaponry."

"I wouldn't worry about that."

"Why not?"

"That's the point of having allies. We have Alfred Jones to worry about that for us."

"Well, should I try to let my guard down and trust him a little more?"

"No."

"But why not?"

"Because he'll steal your fishing boats."
