I Thought You Loved Me?
Chuck dreamed of Sarah's soft lips against his skin as the made love as can only happen in dreams. Suddenly, Sarah sits up and looks at him. The look of love is gone. it has been replaced by anger. "Chuck, how could you? I thought we had something. I know it was complicated but I (stops herself before she admits to loving him). You son of bitch." Reality slams into as her dream fist causes real pain and he finds himself on his floor. Looking around groggily, he sees a fursious Sarah with his shocked sister standing behind her in his doorway. Confused he looks around and only then does he notice someone else is in his bed. A very beautiful and naked someone who snips to Sarah "It's not my fault you can't keep him satisfied."
Scrambling to his feet, he tries to remember what happened last night while desperate for the words to make Sarah forgive him. He gives her his puppy dog face and is rewarded with another punch to his face. This one connects with his right eye. The world spins as he sees Sarah storm out of his room and probably his life. Collapsing on the floor as his sister slams his door in disgust, he tries to piece together the fragments of his life.
The woman still naked in his room leans over his bed and says "Sorry honey I don't have time for another go but call me." as she drops a piece of paper with her number on his bare chest. She then dresses, gives him a wet kiss on the lips and makes her way out.
It is several hours later before Chuck can summon the courage to get off the floor and go out into the apartment. His sister and Captain Awesome are hanging around the living room. Awesome is trying his best to avoid Chuck's gaze while his sister just glares at him.
"Morning." he tries weakly to break the silence.
"Afternoon" Awesome replies but earns smack from Chuck's sister for it.
Sarah ran across the courtyard to Casey's apartment where he surprises her by giving her a hug. "You did the right thing Walker. If we had set it up with you, he would have forgiven you. This way the cut is clean. It is best for him."
"It still hurts." she cries into his shoulder. How could I have let this little geek worm his way so far into my heart?
Agent Tillson makes her way into Casey's apartment via the backway. She raises an eyebrow at seeing Sarah in his arms crying but a head shake from Casey makes it clear she shouldn't comment. What is it about this Charles Bartowski that he reduced the ice princess Walker into a bubbling mass? Sure he is cute in a nerdy way but she just doesn't see it. Still, his mission profile is impressive.
