Written for the 'I love that song!' Challenge. I chose Sunburn by Muse and then I was given the pairing Draco/Astoria.
Draco had known Astoria Greengrass from Hogwarts, yet he'd never really known her. Hopelessly wrapped in the tangents of his own life, he'd bypassed any detail that seemed inconsequential at the time. Yet, as always, it was hard not to notice her beauty.
After the Battle of Hogwarts had gone down, Draco shut out the rest of the world except for his mother, the only thing he dared to care about. Her abrupt death came as a low blow, and it seemed like there wasn't a way he'd ever resurface.
He didn't, either. At first. Even when he went to the outside world, everything seemed bleak, dull. He never really saw the light until Astoria showed it to him.
And it was blinding.
She burned like the sun, yet somehow he couldn't find himself to look away. Being in the dark for so long, it was hard not to.
After their first night together, he'd tried to convince himself that it was a one night stand, a mistake. He found it harder to convince himself after the second time. There was something about her that kept making him come back for more, despite the emotional scars he had from her searing fire.
Eventually Astoria became his obsession. Although they tried to stay away from each other, they still had times when that was impossible. Thus, the circle continued.
Draco finally made it his goal to have Astoria, have all of her. He couldn't take hiding himself from the world behind this broken frame. He knew that he could reel her in but the question was how. He'd make no mistakes.
When Draco made his move, it was at a huge party. Nobody had seen him for years, but what came as the biggest shock was when he suddenly pulled the young, innocent Astoria Greengrass to him and kissed her fiercely on her lips. Her touch burned him, but what hurt the most was when she smacked him.
The rejection was hard for him, and it turned out that the one thing that pulled him from his own despair was the one who'd shove him back in. He didn't try to get Astoria back, instead he chose to burn forever.
He couldn't face the shame.
(A/n)- Not very long and definitely not one of my best works. Nonetheless, I am at least slightly proud. I hope you liked it! Please review.
