A/N: Hey, my second story please don't kill me. Please note, for the uncle, it is purposely written like that to show you his accent. Please review also! It's important to know your opinions!

It has been 14, hard and arduous years since Eragon Shadeslayer defeated Galbatorix and left Alagaesia with the remaining free Eldunari and the eggs. Murtagh disappeared as well, but soon came back and built a hall to train the new Riders. 'Tis there the eggs are sent, and there new Riders come to live. Vroengard has been labeled a training grounds for battle, and the Fire Scale Hall for learning magic.

A very little Rune looked up at the skies, the object of her uncle's many stories. How dragon eggs had recently been found,, and how the Keeper of the Eggs had left Alagaesia, only visiting and sending eggs. She had never seen a Rider, or an egg, or even a dragon! It was probably due to the fact Rune and her uncle lived in the Hadarac Desert, in the mountains, but she had never, even from the top of their mountain, even seen a dragon fly over. It was as if the place she lived were cursed. Rune had dreamed of meeting a Rider, but she wasn't sure if she ever wanted to become one.

"Uncle Terrace?" Rune asked, her eyes sparkling. The elderly nomadic warrior turned towards his niece. "What is on yer mind young 'un?" Rune smiled at the accent she had grown up with, the accent that often drove others away, but her closer. "Where do the stars get their glow?" It was a question Rune had asked several times, and her uncle had always told her the story, no matter if he had to begin the tale anew 14 times in a row. "Well, 'tis a long story young un' so yeh might as well have yerself a seat." Rune's eyes brightened, and quicker than one could say "legend," she was sitting on a boulder, staring with unnerving bright fluorite green eyes. Terrace chuckled, then coughed in preparation. "A long time ago, berfer Galbuterix was even borne, thar was a a great villain. This magician was so horrible, he managed to put out the sters light! An' fer the longes' time, no 'un stood up ter him. There wers no light in ter night sky 'cept fer ter moon. This villain wers soo evil, he set out ter get the suns light! And tha's when dragons decided to take ah stand. They each found 'un partner magician, and fought against him. But they didn' know how ter turn them sters back on. All hope wers almost lost, when one magician appeared, with a bright purple colored dragon. They wer like twins, and only them two could turn dem stars back on. Then they lived in peace, until that Galbuterix rose.." Rune's eyes were almost literally shining, and she asked her uncle, "Do you think the stars will ever go out again?" Terrace looked at her, surprised, then sighed and looked up. "Mebbe Rune I jes' dunno." Rune looked down, then back up at the sky. "Maybe so, huh.." She muttered to herself, then climbed higher on their mountain. "Night Uncle. May the dragons protect you." Rune laid down, then looked at the sky. "One day, he might come back..." she mumbled, then dozed off to sleep of flying, of distant lands from where she was.
