I know you need me to heal yourself, to fill the empty spots that hundreds of people left inside your heart. I know you do. But do you need me?
And you're
so soft. Your arms look like a new brand of pillows to me – to lay
asleep on them would be heaven. At night, when I stand in front of
the door to your room, I wonder what it would be like to sleep with
you. To hear you murmur in your sleep, hopefully my name on your
lips… I guess that's asking too much from you. But I don't want
you to endure this burden all alone.
And now I'm standing here
again. At your closed door, thinking about you. Wishing I had the
courage to step in, and up for myself. Just this once. I can do this.
It's not like opening a door is that hard. Taking a deep breath, I
open the door.
"Finally," the other murmurs in his sleep.
