Coughing, was the only thing to be heard in the home of Alfred Jones and Arthur Kirkland, his "partner" , as most would call him. Alfred didn't exactly feel love for him as much as Arthur did for him.

Alfred mainly just used Arthur for experiments whenever he needed a human guinea-pig.

Arthur had been coughing violently for a bit now, Arthur didn't know how or why this had started, "I-I c-can't sto-op." he said between labored breathes and more violent coughing.

Alfred just stood there and watched him carefully, saying nothing. Finally when Arthur's coughing was much less violent he was laying pathetically on the floor in a small pool of his own blood and vomit.

Alfred grimaced slightly, "You're disgusting." He stated as he kept his cold eyes staring down at Arthur as he sat up slowly onto his knees.

He had blood on the front of his shirt, still some coming out of his mouth as he coughed a bit more and some blood coming from his nose. Arthur wiped some of the blood from his nose before he spoke, "I-I'm sorry...I'll clean it up, I-I promise.."

Alfred didn't say anything as he left to go to his study and leave Arthur to clean the mess that he had made.

Arthur spent a good few hours cleaning all the blood and vomit he had coughed up earlier with a single rag he found. After cleaning the floor and making sure it was clean enough to where Alfred wouldn't be mad at him he stood up and went to go change his shirt before presenting himself to Alfred.

Arthur tenderly knocked on the door to Alfred's study and after a curt reply that allowed him entrance he slowly and quietly walked in. He stopped a couple feet from the man in front of him holding yet another of his books with nothing but things of science.

"Um...I-I cleaned it..." Arthur stated keeping his hands hidden behind his back to hide the shame of how red they had gotten while cleaning every spec he could find from the mess.

Alfred simply looked up at him from his book saying nothing, then looked back at his book and said simply, "I know, otherwise I would have punished you."

The looks in Arthur's eyes were so dull, he was much too tired to anything as he asked, "Can I please go get some rest now?" Alfred looked up at him again and stood up to face toward his desk for something.

Arthur kept fiddling with his fingers nervously before saying, "B-But, I..I love you..." Arthur kept his gaze on his fingers as they kept moving nervously as Alfred continued to say nothing to him.

When he finally spoke, he turned toward the other man, holding a syringe filled with some liquid and said, "If you really loved me, you would stop being such a pathetic waste of space."
