I don't really know where this one came from. I found this in my folder and thought, 'Why not?'. It's from the episode, Endgame and I decided to decipher certain looks and words between my two favorite characters. :D

Disclaimer: You know, last night I had this dream where I created NCIS. *sigh* If only dreams could become reality, right?

"Look at those 'Come hither' eyes or those perfect 'Kiss-me-now' lips." Tony stated, looking with Ziva at the plasma with the suspect's photo on it.

Ziva shot a glance at him. He found this woman attractive? She's nothing special. Definitely not his usual type. So why would he be interested in this one?

"No wonder Vance is obsessed. Kai is killing me! And I'm just looking at her."

Now Ziva was downright glaring at him. So he does find her attractive then. She felt the familiar pull in her stomach at the way he described Kai. The feeling was one that came to her more often than she would care to admit and appeared whenever Tony seemed interested in other women.

"You and Kai are probably a lot more alike than you think."

This knocked Ziva out of her little reverie. Did that mean Tony looked at her that way? Thought about her that way? "I do not follow."

"Really?" He questioned.

Ziva turned her head back to the screen, trying to see the similarities between herself and the murder-suspect.

"Couple of pretty ladies, both trained assassins."

This caught Ziva off-guard. She expected the assassins part, but pretty? Did Tony really see her as pretty? Ziva, never really having been complimented all too much, did the only thing she knew how to do. Deflect.

"You annoy me sometimes."

"Sometimes?" An eyebrow raised.

"Most of the time."

Tony looked down at his partner. She didn't get it, did she? He practically told her his feelings about her (sort of) and the only thing she says is that he's annoying? But for a moment there, Tony could've sworn he saw something in her eyes. Perhaps it was just a trick of the light, but something similar to surprise and… hope? What would she be hoping for? Tony shook those thoughts away. There was no way she would be hoping for the same thing as he was.

That was just wishful thinking.
