"Nightcrawler!"

She screamed out his name, but there was no response.

"Nightcrawler!"

She was running, stumbling as panic started to set in.

"Kurt!"

Finally she reached the clearing where she saw the sentinel and Kurt go down. It felt like everything was on fire as the sentinel's parts burned in the grass, a few of them still giving an occasional mechanical twitch.

"Kurt!"

She began phasing through the robotic parts that were left, calling his name.

"Kurt where are you?!"

She held back tears as there was no response. Then, a glint of sunlight reflecting off of something caught her eye. It was Nightcrawler's belt, lying next to a pile of rubble. Kitty ran to it, and began phasing through the debris. Suddenly, she felt something all to familiar and furry brush her hand. She phased him out of the mess and set him down.

"Kurt you scared the hell out of me!"

He didn't move.

"Kurt, stop joking around, this isn't funny!"

She cupped her hands around his face.

"Kurt!"

Suddenly, she looked at his tail. It lay limp on the ground, something it didn't even do when he was asleep.

"Oh god…"

Tears started to roll down her face as she held him in her lap. His fur was matted and his uniform was ripped all to hell.

"Kurt don't leave me!"
His body was limp in her arms. Her tears turned into sobs now, causing her to shake uncontrollably.

"Kurt!"

Her screams had been reduced to whispers now, her throat unable to make anything louder.

She held him tighter and buried her face into chest.

Suddenly she was being shaken awake.

"Keety! Keety wake up!"

She opened her eyes only to find that she was looking into his golden ones.

"Keety is everything alright?"

She wiped away the tears that had formed on her face during her nightmare.

It was only a dream…

"Katzchen say something!"

She buried her face in his chest and refused to let go.

"It's ok" he said soothingly, rubbing her back.

"It was only a dream..." She repeated to herself, this time out loud.

"I'm here Katzchen"

"I love you Kurt" Her face was still buried in his shirt, and her comment was barely audible.

"I love you too Katzchen"

He held her until she was calm enough for sleep to take her again.

"I love you too..."

He whispered one more time before he drifted out of consciousness, still holding Kitty against him.
