The meeting was going pretty smoothly overall and everything was going to plan. So far, there had only been one argument which was the one currently taking place, something about a disagreement between some of the EU countries which America wasn't apart of therefore he didn't care however he couldn't help but eavesdrop, his excuse being that he could step in if things got too heated. In reality, the young nation was just nosy and adored gossip but he was still in denial about that trait of his. Focus on the positives, ignore the negatives. That was his kind of style. One thing Alfred didn't expect was for the meeting to be interrupted, the door being opened by god knows who and to be honest, Alfred didn't care about the man because what he saw had to be the best thing ever. Normally, an interruption was something that annoyed him but when he saw his dog, the big, fluffy and, most importantly, healthy golden retriever, Alfred shot up from the seat he was sat in, going straight to the door with a wide grin on his face.

By then, other nations had begun to turn to see what Alfred was doing which was fussing his four legged friend, Apollo as Alfred had named him when he was a tiny pup, fluffing up the dogs fur as the dog happily wagged his tail and smothered Alfred's face in licks. It didn't take very long for other nations to come and join in with fussing the dog which Alfred seemed to be quite happy about because yes, that was his dog right there and he was a healthy dog too! It didn't take very long for Alfred to end up looking like a kid on Christmas as he smooched Apollo's forehead as if the dog were his own child. "You're okay!" Alfred said, grin becoming even wider which made his face start to actually ache but quite frankly, the American didn't care because his dog was okay, the scare he'd had over the dog didn't matter any more because there he was, happy with his tail wagging and tongue sticking out, enjoying the attention he was receiving. Alfred then wrapped his arms around his fluffy friend and hugged the dog, tears of happiness rolling down his cheek, which he swore he heard an 'Awww' noise from Germany as his cheeks slowly turned red with excitement as he went back to stroking the smooth fur of his dog.

After about ten minutes of him and the other nations that had gathered fussing over the dog [and to be honest, Alfred hardly noticed the other nations] they got up, going back to their seats, Alfred leading his dog with him by the leather leash even though pets weren't supposed to be allowed in meetings. It was his country, his building and his dog. He didn't care. The rest of the meeting seemed to just be half the room discussing serious stuff and the other half becoming some kind of dog lovers meeting and for once, Alfred didn't mind. It almost felt perfect, like a massive weight was lifted from his shoulders. To be honest, no one really seemed to care about Alfred breaking the rules by having his dog there, it seemed to give the room a much happier atmosphere than it had earlier with the yelling and the shouting.

That night, Alfred went home as the happiest man in the world with Apollo to his other dog, Shooter the German Shepherd, and his two cats, Liberty the black Maine Coon and Jason the white Maine Coon. No one could ever be as happy as he was at that moment.
