With only six tributes left Clove knew that the Hunger Games were coming to an end. She, Cato and the other Careers had killed most of them. The other Careers were dead and now it was only her and Cato. She sat there watching Cato poke the coals in the fire and wondered what he was thinking about.

He was probably sizing up their chance against the other tributes. Clove thought about them, there was the girl from five, she was very cunning, she might be hard to catch. And then there was Thresh, the boy from eleven, he was big and strong, just like Cato. Peeta, the boy from twelve, wasn't going to be much trouble if he was even still alive. Cato had cut him with his sword. Last but not least there was Katniss, the girl from twelve, she was pretty good with the bow and arrow. Katniss and Peeta are supposedly madly in love but Clove wasn't falling for it. Out of all the tributes left Thresh was the one that scared her the most; he was so silently terrifying.

Clove trained for the Hunger Games her whole life, and she knows that she had the upper hand against the other tributes. Still, she is terrified even though she would never yet anyone know it. Clove considered telling Cato, but she isn't sure.

She'd trained for the games with him and has known him most of her life, but she wasn't sure she wanted to tell him...yet.

As Clove sharpened her knife, she looked up at Cato and caught him staring at her. He quickly looked away. She went back to sharpening her knife trying not to think about how only one person would make it out of the games. As desperately that she wanted to go home, she wasn't sure she could kill Cato if they were the last two left.

"So, where do you think Lover Boy is." Clove asked.

"Dunno, surprised he's still alive, I practically hacked his leg of" he replied. Clove grunted lightly.

After a short silence Clove asked, "How 'bout Everdeen?"

"Up in a tree somewhere, hiding like the coward she is. I bet Eleven is in the field, there's nowhere else he can be." Cato replied. "He's probably right about that," Clove thought to herself.

"Just us two left," he said.

Clove stopped sharpening her knife, looked and Cato and raised one eyebrow questioningly. "Excuse me?" She asked.

"Of the big districts, just us two," he said quickly.

"Yep" she said.

"I wonder who we're going to find next, it's only a matter of time before the game makers drive us together again," he said. "He has a point," Clove thought, feeling a little more nervous than before.

"I suppose so," she said, nodding slowly.

Suddenly, Cato asked, "Who do you think will win?" Clove stared at him. The silence stretching on. Clove opened her mouth to say something but was paused because of the sound of crackling speakers. Then the national anthem began to play, she sat up straighter, straining to hear every word Claudius Templesmith said.

He congratulated them for surviving so long. It was the first outside contact Clove and Cato had since the Feast.

"There's been a slight rule change," Claudius says. Really? Clove was surprised, this never happened in previous games.

"From here on out, two victors can be crowned provided they are from the same district." He continued.

Clove was even more surprised. Cato and her could make it home! She never realized how much she wanted for this to happen until now. She couldn't stop herself from smiling, in fact, she was so happy that she started giggling.

"You and me?" Cato asked. Clove was surprised he even asked, of course they were going to work together.

"Let's finish this." Clove said nodding slowly as she started to smile again.
