Dress You Up

One of the things about New York that Kurt loved without reservation was the endless opportunities for fashion – and bargains. Going hunting in second hand stores, flea markets and vintage shops had quickly become one of his favorite things to do on days off, and more often than not Adam would join him.

Currently Kurt was on the lookout for a Halloween costume for Adam. Or rather, he was looking for something that could be transformed into one – courtesy of the Hummel clothing magic (TM). Adam was supposedly doing the same a few rows away, but Kurt wasn't fooling himself. Providing a miracle he was the one who was going to make it happen.

Adam had his qualities, and Kurt appreciated every single one of them, but this? Not one of them.

He sighed, then moved to the next section, fully prepared to be let down again. He estimated they had about a 15 % shot at finding what they needed in this particular market, but they'd started there anyway as it was the one closest to where they'd started.

The next one would be their best bet he thought, flipping through hangers almost on automatic. And then he saw it. The blazer wasn't perfect, no, but it would take very little work to make it so, and with the sweater hanging two spots down... It was the perfect base for a perfect outfit for Adam.

"Adam? Could you come over here?" The Brit hurried over with a soft smile and looked at the garments Kurt held up.

"A generic white shirt, some red trimming, and the pants... You see where I'm going with this?"

"Yes. It's perfect, darling, except you know I'm pants at sewing."

"And that's why you have me. I'll have it done in maybe two hours, and all you need to do is ply me with coffee and fresh cookies. Deal?"

Adam's sunshine smile – the one that made Kurt's insides expand – showed up again.

"That I can do. Now, do we need to find an outfit for you as well?"

"Oh no. I have one already." Kurt thought about the costume hidden in a garment bag back at the loft. "It'll be perfect, just you wait and see." We will be perfect, he thought and continued to smile while reaching forward for a kiss

The night of Isabelle's Halloween party the pair got ready together at the loft. Kurt was practically vibrating with nervous energy, eager to see his boyfriend's reaction to his costume. He'd been taking a few risks, yes, but. It was risks worth taking – provided Adam took the message Kurt was sending in the right spirit.

"You ready in there, darling?"

Oh. "One second" Kurt called out, before turning to the mirror one last time, checking his (flawless) hair again, and giving himself a nod. This is as good as it gets.

He walked out past the privacy curtain slowly, and struck a pose.

"Hello Doctor" he said, carefully watching Adam. Adam, who was busy picking his chin up from the floor. Promising.

"You're..."

"Yes. I am. Do you like?"

Judging from the heat in Adam's kiss he most definitely liked, and Kurt allowed himself a little smirk.

"You're my TARDIS. So..." Adam gave him a leering smile, "are you going to take me on a ride through time and space?"

"Maaayyybeee. After all, I did let you steal me, didn't I?" And he had, he had let Adam steal him away from pain and pining, and possibly going back to Blaine, and it was the best decision he'd ever made.

"Are you ready to go find an adventure?"

"I sure am. Come on then, Sexy. Let's explore the universe."
