Chapter One

She was sitting down in her dark room, the only light being the artificial glare of her computer screen. The girl was finally getting used to the whistling of wind outside, blowing the rain into miss-matched patterns. Hissing from the heater was reverberating throughout the rickety house, slightly clunking and clinking. Her skin was warm on the outside, but inside, her organs begged for the heat and drizzle of a hot chocolate. She didn't care though. Not at all. This was the kind of night and day she loved and worshipped. It made her think, something that she was very fond of. Thinking was something most other people should be able to do, though most didn't. She liked to think about everything. Even the things that would help her think, and the things that wouldn't.

So therefore, she cut her hair short, into a cut that looked like a boy's, so that her hair wouldn't get in her face and ruin "thinking mode". She thought it was repulsive to have hair hanging in ones face, because it covered up the thing you were born with. A FACE. That's what your mom and dad gave you, appreciate it, she always thought. She maintained her thin figure to fit into size 6 shirts, so that weight wouldn't get in the way of "peer pressure". Something she didn't believe in, but it was pretty pointless a topic to think about, so she decided to do away with it. At school, she got great grades. For obvious reasons. She even knew what she planed to do at sixteen. Leave the house and travel somewhere, and never tell anyone. It made her angry though, when she thought about the countless of peers who thought they could get somewhere in life by the way they acted now. Setting off stink bombs, bullying, and countless other things.

It aggravated the hell out of her. She instead took 5 deep breaths and tried to find peace. She tapped her fingers on the keyboard. Trying to let go. When she did she felt relaxed, and eased up. She realized her hands were clenched into tight fists. Slowly, she made her fingers unroll, leaving imprints of nails in her palm. Good, she thought, You're learning to control yourself. Otherwise you'll let that happen again. As she sustained herself, she soon realized that she was quite sleepy. Treading on her last bit of energy, she forced herself to get off the chair and fall into bed. A couple seconds later, when the sheets were wrapped snuggly about her, she soon fell into a deep sleep. Dreamless.
