Looking at Claire Kincaid sitting next to Jack McCoy, Diana Hawthorne clenched her fists, barely able to control her envy. She should be the one sitting next to Jack, not some twenty-something bimbo who could stroke Jack's ego. She cursed the day she and Jack took the Dillard case- that was the reason she was being prosecuted today. That was the reason why she and Jack broke up. After they won the case, Jack and Diana went to Ireland. Little did she know that when Jack got his promotion, he dumped her for the "newest model." That model happened to be Claire Kincaid.
Yes, Diana was envious of Claire. But was that because Claire took her spot in Jack's bed, or because Claire didn't give up everything for Jack, only to be left behind?
