CHAPTER 1

Izzie walked through the doors of Seattle Grace Hospital.

"Deep breath in" she mumbled to herself.

It was the first time she has been back in a year. Her hair was past her shoulders, a slight wave to it. Heels fire engine red and as tall at the space needle. Her skirt was up to her belly button with a belt leading to her shirt. She wanted to make a statement and so she did.

The nurses all stared as she walked through those doors. The doctors all spoke softly.

"Welcome back ."

"Thank you chief." Izzie stared at Derek. The last time she saw him, he was only intrim chief, now he was the real thing.

He leaded her to the nurses station. There she picked up her scrubs and her ID card.

"Wow, this is old." Izzie was laughing at her old picture.

"Yes well , you missed picture day a few times." Izzie turned around and saw that Meredith said that.

"Mer!" Izzie's face lit up.

"Damn girl, could you get any hotter? Why are you so dressed up for work?"
"I wanted to make an impression. How did you know I was coming?"

"I live with the chief, you think I wouldn't find out?"

"Ha true." Izzie didn't know how to hold a conversation with her. It has been so long.

"Izzie, common everyone else wants to see you." Meredith said

"Wait who is everyone else?" Izzie looked worried.

"Christina, Arizona, Mark, Callie and a few others."

"What?" She looked at the expression on Meredith's face.

"Mer? Are you okay? Hello? Be happy, I'm back for good."

Sorry, I am. But I think you should know something."

"Uh what?"

"Well you were gone for a while."

"Yeah, I know and I am sorry."

"Okay, well uh, Alex is sorta engaged to someone."

"Okay? He broke up with me a long time ago, It's okay."

"Not when that person is Lexie." Meredith face was turning red.

"He is what, with who?!" Izzie kind of yelled it.

"You two were over a long time ago. I am sorry."

"I wouldn't care if it was someone else, I wouldn't care if it was some whore from Joe's. But Lexie? The girl he cheated on me with? Seriously! I come back for a new beginning and I get this."

"Iz, I'm sorry."

"Yeah, whatever I will get over it." Izzie didn't want to. She always loved Alex. When she was gone, he was all she thought about. He ment everything to her even though he broke it off and then she sent him the stupid official divorce papers.

"Iz." Meredith looked her old friend in the eyes.

"What? Okay I have to go to the locker room and change."

"Your not going to be the new Addison? Haha" Derek eyeballed Meredith.

" No... I can't operate in heels like she can, I'm just not that good yet." Izzie was laughing.

"Okay I'll see you later on."

Izzie walked into the locker room. It looked the same as it did before she left. She took off her skirt, belt, and shirt. Leavig her in only her bra and underwear. Not really caring the door flung open.

"Izzie?"

Izzie stopped. She turned her head.
