" Roxas? Roxas, are you awake?" Someone stroked my arm, and I groaned. " Finally, some reaction." In my head, I was falling in a black pit, glimpses of the boy in red flashed around the pit. I felt as if I had been falling forever. Then, I finally found the exit. The light blinded me.
" His eyes are opening! Axel, His eyes are opening!" I heard feet running. " Roxas?" I opened my eyes slowly. " Roxas?! Do-do you understand me?" He looked as if he would cry, but I knew he wouldn't. " Hey, Axel." I whispered. Axel smile was huge. He grabbed my hand and held it tight. " I thought I had lost you." I give him a weak smile. " Where's Xion?" My voice was hoarse and it startled me. " Right here." She stepped out from behind Axel. " Roxas, what happened?" asked Axel.
Then, memories started flooding in of that day. The boy in red, the pain, the drifting, the beach, Axel's feeling..." Axel!" I sat up in my bed. " Whoa, get back down, buddy." said Axel, trying to get me back in bed. " Axel, the day I fainted, My mind went black and I felt something. I felt...something wet." Axel looked at me. " Axel, in the darkness I wa sin, I heard you tell Xion that you felt something that you haven't felt before, at least not since you were real...you said you cared..and Xion said she did too. Then, a funny feeling came...it was a warm feeling. It's hard to explain."
Axel smiled at me. " What?" " I know that feeling, I feel it everytime I'm with you two." " What is it?" " Well, I think it's love." " Love?!" " Shh! Not so loud!" " But Axel, you told me we can't love." " Yes, Nobodies can't love, but you-you did something to me and Xion." " What?" Axel smiled at me more. " You gave us hearts." " I-I don't understand." " You gave us hearts, Roxas. I don't know how, but you did." I looked at Xion. She smiled and nodded. " Do-do the other member know?" " No, we can hide it...somehow we can." I stare at them. " Roxas! You gave us hearts! Do you know what that means?" said Xion, she was expressing an emotion I didn't know. " No." " Roxas, you had a heart all along!"
I started to think back to the pastdays. The laughing, the choked up feeling, the anger I had at Saix. " I had a heart? How did Xemnas not know?" " We don't know." said Axel. " Some how, we can hide our hearts. We can hold our emotions in and hold our heart...somehow we can." I couldn't believe it. I had a heart all along. A big smile spread across my face. An emotion in my heart started up. Somehow, I knew it as excited. " Axel. I had a heart!" " I know." Then, I thought of something.
" Axel, over and over I heard you telling me you couldn't stand to lose me. Is that because you might have lost your heart?" " No, I can't lose my heart now." " Then what?" I could see tears starting in his eyes. " Because you are like a little brother to me." " A what?" " A little brother. Some one who is younger than you, but is related to you." " But we aren't related." " But we both don't have families. And I see you as my family." I had that choked-up feeling again. " So, you-you are like my brother?" " No..we are brothers, and I'm gonna take care of you and stay with you." I smiled.
Then, I had a dizzy feeling. " Roxas?" I could hear panic in Axel's voice. I couldn't stay up anymore. I fell back, feeling weak. " Axel?" " Roxas?!" " How long was I out?" I asked weakly. Axel pursed his lips. " 50 days." My mind shut down.
