"Robbie," Tori said assertively. "We're not using that for our song."
"Why not?" Robbie seemed offended.
"'Cause we're not," the Latina finalized with her arms crossed. The dejected boy rested his guitar up again Tori's red couch and sulked.
"We have to come up with something," Beck piped in.
"I know," Tori sighed. "But it has to be really good. We don't get second chances on this performance.
The Hollywood Arts drama teacher had given his class, which included Tori, Beck, and Robbie, to give their own song suggestions for an upcoming musical. The winner's grade would be bumped up a whole letter, but the trio was having no luck, despite their efforts.
"Ooh, look!" Robbie perked up when he saw Cat's username pop up on Tori's laptop along with her goofy picture. Video Call from HappyCat. "Cat wants to chat!" He happily made his way over to the table and clicked accept.
When the video came up, Robbie immediately noticed that it was unusually dark in Cat's childlike room. Her face could barely be made out even by the light of her computer screen.
"Guys," the redhead's words were almost whispered as she brought her face closer to the webcam.
"Cat, are you okay?" Tori asked immediately when she and Beck joined Robbie.
"Guys," Cat repeated, her voice cracking this time. "I need help."
"What is it, Cat?" Beck asked with a tone full of concern.
"M-my brother…"
"What'd he do?" Robbie asked.
"He's downstairs. He's all mad and I think he's going to get me. I keep hearing things break," Cat whimpered. Beck flinched, clearly hit hard by the information.
"Where are you?" Tori quizzed. "Isn't your mom home?"
"S-she's at the grocery store," the redhead answered. "I'm in my room. I turned all the lights off, but I think he's going to f-find me, Tori. P-please help me." At this Beck grabbed his keys off the couch.
"Stay in there, Cat," he ordered. "Tori and I are coming to get you." He turned to Robbie. "Stay online with her." The curly haired boy complied and gave Cat an uneasy smile as the door shut behind Tori and Beck.
Five minutes later, Robbie had Cat occupied while she told him all about Mr. Purple's recent wedding. Suddenly the lights came on, revealing her pink walls, and Cat froze for fear that her brother might have discovered her. Meanwhile, Robbie watched as two hands hooked under her arms and lifted the little girl up. On the other end, Cat, recognizing Beck Oliver's signature cologne, giggled in relief.
"You okay, baby girl?" the Canadian asked, holding his friend tight in his arms.
"Uh huh," she nodded. "W-where's Felix?"
"He locked himself in the basement," Beck said. "Tori's calling your mom. We're gonna take you to the Vegas' house until they get your brother under control." The redhead beamed gratefully and threw her arms around his neck.
A/N: This was in a dream of mine a few nights ago and, luckily, I remembered it pretty well. Plus Jade's not in this, which is a first for me in these kinds of stories. Please review with feedback! :)
