He was a soft, sweet harmony to my melody.

Subtle and soothing, like a gentle breath of air caressing closed eyes. His presence was a lasting, faded kiss, with frosty tears tracing down pale cheeks.

His gaze was soft and delicate; a gentle, cascading emerald light illuminating the worn features of his face. His eyes watched me constantly, and I could feel their faint intensity falling like feathers against the curve of my jaw, sweeping across the structure of my face. Almost as if he wanted to take my image and lay it down in his mind; a portrait on the wall of his memory with the label of a first love; his last love.

The fading image of his life falls down in a rainbow of pale, sweet color with the keys. The opening notes crystallize, and the piano plays without a voice to sing. I play; a lasting, broken melody, of his arms draping around the world he tried to save, of his grace, of broken, empty promises of forever. Of his cries for the very last of them, of his lilting voice; a shattered, waking dream that will never be forgotten.

The last of his features, his harmony, is played into my song; a bittersweet cry for my saviour.

I fall.

I fall into my song; I fall into my misery, hoping no one will catch me. Hoping no one will notice the tears, hoping the emptiness can be ignored; can be filled.

But someone does.

Almost as if he is here with me…

* A bit of symbolism in here. See if you can catch it.

* Sorry it's so short, but my inspiration ended there. No use dragging it out. Not enough romantic piano music, maybe?

* Please review. Suggestions, comments, criticism, anything… flame, if you have to.

* I'm working on the writing bit. I'm a one-shot junkie.
