The Waters of Madness
In the bottom of my mind there is a blue lagoon
It is not like the one in Ariel,
There are no trees or birds
It is in a state of perpetual darkness;
Never very bright, nor very dark.
It is somewhat like a cave, for there is no sun,
And the water is a deep deep blue.
The walls are made of rock,
Or something similar therefore.
You can put a paddle in it, but it makes no splash
It is always calm and quiet;
The place where there is nothingness.
The place where brilliant ideas come from.
The water looks so inviting, like a cool pool on a hot summers afternoon
And I know, somehow, that this place is the most dangerous place in my mind;
It will grant me either complete madness or complete happiness.
Should I take this risk?
And sometimes I wonder,
If I were to touch it,
Would I have total happiness in madness?
