Hide held Kaneki's Hand as he led him to the place they first met under an apple tree in full bloom. Hide has been preparing for this day for a long time. Kaneki looked confused "Hide? What did you want to show me?" He asked whilst looking around seeing nothing new a part from a few flowers that have been planted.
Hide smiled "wait.." He took a deep breath and knelt down on one knee pulling out a navy blue box . Kaneki looked down and stared and him smiling. "Kaneki, we have been best friends since for ever and I've had feelings for you since the start.." Kaneki was frozen in place looking down at the smiling blonde. "Since we confessed our love for each other, my love for you has only grown. I wish for us to be together for the rest of our lives." He opened the box revealing a silver ring with small diamonds on it and a larger one on the top of it. "Kaneki Ken. Will you marry me?"
Kaneki smiled brightly, tears gently rolling down his face, "yes..." He whispered "yes, of course I will Hide!" Hide stood up and took his new fiancé hand as he slipped on the ring which fit perfectly. Kaneki smiled and hugged Hide tightly and wrapped his arm around his waist. "I love you, my sunshine" Hide smiled and hugged him back kissing him on the lips "I love you too"
That night Hide and Kaneki got home -after having coffee and Touka making cake for Hide and a special human flesh cake for Kaneki as they had their coffee- and got dressed into their PJs and cuddled on the couch in their apartment watching a movie til they felt asleep.
