The Stand for S.P.E.W
"We stand for justice, peace and equality! We stand for house elves!" Mrs Granger finished her speech by banging her fist down hard, on the table. She'd got more and more fired up as she went on through the speech and she looked at us all at the end with the kind of look a Swedish Short snout looks at its prey.
I'd only agreed to join S.P.E.W in the first place because I was fresh out of Hogwarts and needed to find something that would get the magical zoology universities interested. I also knew that Mrs Granger ran it and wanted to finally meet her.
My mind started to wander as a pretty woman called Lavender started arranging who would go in for the interview first. There were at least thirty girls there, so I didn't bother worrying just then.
My mind wandered back to Hogwarts. I had been so desperate to get away from the teasing Slytherins and those annoying Gryffindors. But now that I'm away from them – I can get rather lonely.
"Name please." It was Lavender, working her way through all of the girls, taking names for the interviews.
"Clovrren Siliyree" I answer. I'm not ashamed of my name, but it can be annoying people hearing it wrong or asking to spell it.
Lavender stared at me for a second, then smiled and wrote down what looked like "Clover Sillytree" Great.
In what seemed like no time at all, my name was called and I was ushered into an adjoining room from the office by Lavender.
Mrs Granger greeted me from the door "Hello, hello! Clover, isn't it! I'm Hermione Granger, nice to meet you!" I tried to tell her that my name wasn't Clover, but I couldn't get a word in edge ways.
I was soon taken over to her desk and sat down opposite her. Oh god, I'm at an interview I remember thinking savagely to myself.
"Okay, so Clover, I'm just going to start by asking about your background, okay?" Her tone was calm and kind but her body language maintained a formal and business- like appearance.
I nodded.
