This was originally a Parable writing exercise for Religion. It is okay I suppose, but I would like to hear what others think. It sort of set in modern-ish time. (:
Friendship Loss
Niva and Isas had been friends for a long time. They met in High school and stayed together all the way to Lightsbridge University, one of the top universities in America, where they studied plants and birds.
Niva was born on a farm and Isas was a rich man's son, they were rivals, friends, colleagues, lovers and had always treated each other as equals.
But, something changed in Lightsbridge. He began to immerse himself in his work and he started to act like the aristocrat's son that he was born to be; arrogant and snobbish yet as courteous as ever. He began to treat Niva as if she was inferior, and soon enough, their connection was lost. Their rivalry was bitter and harsh, hate forming in the forgotten bond.
Years later, whenever Niva remembered Lightsbridge, she would look across the room and wonder how it could've gotten so bad.
Next time, she would think, promising to herself, next time, I'll be ready. I won't let it all crumble like that, never again.
I know it is not very good, but I wanted to know how to improve it.
So please, review.
