Title: Heritage

Disclaimer: My three-legged leprechaun, Pixie, tells me quite gleefully that some English lady owns Harry Potter.
Archive: I will post this on Fanfiction.net when it is working again.
Notes: This is an answer to a challenge tossed out in the Draco_and_Harry group on yahoo. The challenge was that Draco had to be part or wholly veela, and then to go into heat. Must be slash or yaoi.
It was Saturday night, and was laying in bed, which was strange for him, but then again, Draco felt strange. His skin felt as if it was too tight, and itched and burned. He tried to fight the sensations, but he couldn't. He had felt like this for the past two days, it was getting worse, and he had no clue way he felt this way.
He didn't know why he felt the way he did, but he did know what hadn't caused these feelings. He knew it wasn't puberty, as he had entered it third year, and he knew that he wasn't sick. He also knew that most boys didn't feel like this, so that left only one reason why he felt this way.
Now, that reason had to do with Draco's heritage, and a little known piece of his heritage at that. See, Draco wasn't your typical wizarding spoilt brat. It wasn't because his parents were death eaters, because many students had death eaters as parents. It wasn't because he was rich, because there were two families richer than his, the Black's and the Potter's. It wasn't because he had joined the side of Dumbledore, because the Snape's and the Zambini's had already joined. It wasn't because he was gay, because the wizarding world had a higher percentage of a gay population to a straight population to a muggle group of the same size. Statistics back that up. While 10 out of a 100 muggles maybe gay, 20 out of a 100 wizards are gay. Some famous examples would include Harry Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Severus Snape, and the Weasly Twins. It wasn't because he was an orphan now, because at least fifty students had been orphaned during the wars, and at least three students had to live at Hogwarts full-time.
No, the reason he wasn't a typical reason had to with what, not who he was. He was the first male veela to be born in close to two centuries. It had come as a complete shock to find out that he wasn't wholly human. His mother had kept the truth from him until a month before she had died, last year.
The sixth year student looked around his room "I wish I had asked her about veela's when she asked if I had any questions," he said aloud. 'I think I'll go search the library tomorrow,' he continued mentally. With that last thought, he rolled over and went to sleep.
