The Difference Between Us
You were born above in stature.
I was born below.
That is the way things are,
Though no one needs to know.
I was born to be free.
You were born tied.
The paths you take are always narrow,
While mine are forever wide.
You were born in evil
I was born to good.
We'll use the gifts we're born with,
In the way we should.
You were born for night.
And me, I live for day.
I guess that's how it is.
I suppose we have no say.
You were born into company
I was born alone
I was born for laughter
For you was no such tone.
We were born with a destiny
Different paths we lead
But I was born for you,
As much as you for me.
