Trusting Before Doubting
"Pay me the thousands
You owe,"
Your friend asks.
"Be patient with me,"
you plead,
"and I will pay everything!"
Your friend
Grants you mercy.
She is Trusting.
You walk away
Thankful, but
Hypocritical.
Running into
Your co-worker
you remember he owes you $5.
Grabbing his shoulders
You demand
What is yours
"Be patient with me,"
he begs,
"and I will return everything."
But you, the
Hypocrite
Refuse.
"Now it's a ten!"
Raise the price
You are Doubting.
The coworker
Tells your friend.
Disappointingly.
Disapproving, she rebukes,
"Now you owe me
three times as much."
...
No more
Hypocrites are
needed in this world.
Not seven,
but seventy-seven times
be the friend,
Trusting before Doubting.
