The Ponds Residence, 1938
"Amy, what's wrong?" Rory asked his wife.
Amy had been practically in the same chair for the last week. She rarely spoke anymore. She just sat there, just sat. Rory was worried about her, she hadn't been the same since...well, since The Doctor.
Amy turned to look at her husband, "Nothing."
"Amy, please, don't lie to me, I know that something as wrong you have practically sat in the same spot for the last week. I'm scared for you." Rory said.
"I keep remembering, you know, the Doctor, all the good times we had with him."
Rory closed his eyes, he knew it, it was about the Doctor. It had been a shock really, he was in a graveyard, he saw his own grave. Then he ended up back in 1938 again. Lonely. Then a few seconds later, Amy had joined him, tears were streaking her face.
"We can't go back," she had said.
"What?" Rory demanded.
There had to be a way back, there had to. The Doctor would help them, get them out of this impossible situation, the always did.
"He told me that he couldn't go back for you in the Tardis. A-and if he did that would be creating another paradox and it would destroy the city." Amy cried.
Rory wrapped his arms around his distraught wife.
"It's going to be okay, it's going to be okay," he kept saying over and over again, more trying to reassure himself.
"Remember, Venice, and the vampires, god it feels like so long ago and Captain Avery and his son. The Silence. Melody. Our wedding," she said, smiling slightly at the last one. "We had so many adventures. Remember, remember when the Doctor came for the first time, to Leadsworth, to save the whole world. I was a kissagram. That was a long time ago. Then remember Oswin Oswald? She was a funny character. Then, remember when we met Queen Nefertiti and John Ridell. Your dad too. That was fun…"
"Stop Amy, please stop."
"An remember the invasion of the cubes. Your dad, he made a thing called 'Brian's Log'. And remember he would tape the cube and then send the footage to U.N.I.T everyday. He would spend every day just watching that damn cube. I don't know how he did it but-"
"Amy stop!" Rory shouted.
Amy was taken back, Rory had almost never yelled at her.
"You don't understand, my dad, the Doctor promised him that he would bring us back safe. I bet you the Doctor won't give him another thought. Hell, he probably forgot!"
"Rory!" Amy said, reproachfully.
"I won't be able to every see him again. He won't know what happened, he'll die! Never knowing!"
"I-I'm sorry about Brian, I didn't think of that until now, really." Amy said, sadly.
Rory sat down in the chair opposite her.
"It's alright, but it's weird, you know? Us? In the 1930s? Hell, next year World War II will start."
"Yeah, I know Rory. It's weird. It's different, but we'll adapt. I think it's time to stop feeling bad about myself and stop mourning over the Doctor and our adventures that will never happen. But, you know what? Now we'll have our own adventures, together, the Williams'." Amy said.
Rory raised his eyebrow, "What happened to the Ponds?"
"We're starting a new chapter in our lives Rory, I think it's time to become the Williams after all the Ponds were left behind in 2012."
A/N: This is my first fanfiction, so please review and tell me how I did. For now this is a one-shot but I might change it later. Thank you for reading!
