The Queen's Choice.

Queen Moon Butterfly found herself, running down the corridors of a strange abandoned Earth building. She breathed hardly as she ran through the almost infinite metal corridors while searching for the indicated door.

"Where is it? Where is it?!" Moon asked herself frantically.

"Stop."

Queen Moon stopped abruptly at the sound of the voice.

"The hidden door you are looking for is on your right."

Moon, through pants, made her way to the indicated wall, looking desperately for the hidden door.

"Find it soon, because it won't last."

Moon searched more quickly before her hand met a switch disguised as the wall. She pressed it, revealing a door on the spot and an entire room inside of it. She quickly entered the room before the door closed behind her.

The room was completely dark, but before she could react, all the lights went on, revealing room filled with old machines.

A computer in a nearby desk turned on almost immediately, showing what it seemed to be a countdown.

"5:45" was the number written in the decreasing countdown when the screen of the computer came back to life.

"Now, listen carefully…" The voice stated calmly to the altered Queen. "The children are not here. But, you were brought here for a reason."

From above, two old screens began to descend until they were at the same height as Queen Moon's eyes. The two screens came to life as they showed something that disturb the Queen.

With a gasp of horror, she watched at the screens that had the images of the two children.

The left one, Marco.

The right one, Star.

The two teenagers were tied up into different chairs, with TNT surrounding them. The two of them, asleep.

"What is this?!" Moon yelled with anger.

"The two of them are tied and secured into these separated vaults full of dynamite each one. Both, as you can see, are sleeping peacefully. But, when that countdown reaches zero…"

An explosion sound filled the room, startling the already upset Queen.

"They both blew up."

"Y-You can't do that!"

"I know I can't. After all, it would be cruel of me to kill the two of them."

A pair of buttons emerged from the inside of the desk, being now, at Moon's reach.

"So, I'm going to let you decide. Which one survives?"

The Queen looked carefully at the buttons with a complete loss of words.

"The blue button activates the boy's dynamite, but deactivates the girl's dynamite. The red one deactivates the boy's but activates the girl's."

"You can't…"

"In other words. The blue saves the girl and the red saves the boy."

A beeping sound caught the Queen's attention.

She turned to see the countdown.

"5:00 minutes and counting." The voice said before leaving her into silence.

Alone with her thoughts…

Moon's first thought and instinct was to save Star. Her daughter. She is the future Queen of Mewni, the fate of magic rests upon her shoulders. Clearly, she is the most important of the two.

But, Marco is innocent. He doesn't have anything to do with all of this. His life is in danger for the simple fact of being friends with the princess of Mewni. He doesn't need to pay for the sins of the royal family.

Star would never forgive her if she killed Marco. And Marco will not be the same again without Star.

Moon was forced to choose, choose between killing an innocent, or killing her daughter. A choice that won't end well…

The Queen began to tremble in anxiety. "What do I do?! Who should I save?!"
