"It's a good way to start a new year."
"Uh-huh."
McCormick raised an eyebrow. "You don't seem convinced."
"Nah, you're right, kiddo."
"Now I'm not convinced." McCormick examined the judge. "Oh, I get it; if you missed something with Kenny, you might've missed something else?"
Sudden shifting and averted eyes said everything.
"You're not responsible for everything that happens, Hardcase, even in your courtroom. You gave Kenny his life back."
"Part of his life."
"The best part," Mark insisted. "He's free; you gave him another chance."
"And that's enough?"
"It's enough. And a good way to start a new year."
