The Truth

One morning, Jayfeather stepped out of the medicine den. He heard the paw-steps of his Clanmates padding around and doing their morning duties.

Jayfeather heard someone coming towards him.

"Good morning!" the excited voice of Cinderheart meowed.

She had a somewhat older voice. Like Cinderpelt, Cinderheart's original self. But Cinderheart doesn't remember being the past medicine cat before Leafpool.

Jayfeather thought that he should go on and tell Cinderheart, that she was Cinderpelt.

"Cinderheart, we need to talk," Jayfeather told her.

"Okay," Cinderheart said, and followed Jayfeather into the medicine den.

Jayfeather sat down on some moss and Cinderheart sat in front of him.

"What's up?" she asked.

"Well…" Jayfeather said. How can he put this? He'll just try his best. "Well, you know Leafpool's mentor Cinderpelt?" Jayfeather asked.

"Yes, she died saving me and my sisters…" Cinderheart replied.

"Yeah, well…she knew she was going to die," he meowed.

Cinderheart blinked, confused. "How did she know that?"

"I think that she had a talk with StarClan and they told her that she would once live again as a warrior," Jayfeather explained. "When she died her soul went into you. Cinderheart you are Cinderpelt,"

Cinderheart just stared at Jayfeather, shocked. "I…I…"

"It's okay, Cinderheart. You don't have to say anything," Jayfeather told her.

"So, I'm Cinderpelt?" she asked.

Jayfeather nodded slowly.

Cinderheart got to her paws. "I'm…I'm glad that you told me this," she turned to leave and then stopped. "Thank you, Jayfeather," she said in an older and wise voice.
