I will only say it is a random work of sleep deprivation and New Year's fuzzies. My "childhood decade" is over; this is my way of being sentimental. =) Plus, it just seemed to me like something Magnus would do, and Alec, like me, would be asleep if no one kept him up.
Happy New Year everyone! Hope you have the best year, and decade, ever. =)
Disclaimer: Don't own them. =( Oh well!!!! ~skips off to lalaland~

Alec woke to an annoying buzzing noise on his dresser. He sighed and fumbled for his cell phone. The vibrating noise against the wood was grating and irritating, which made it the perfect alarm, but it was too dark for his alarm to be going off. He flipped it open and squinted into the light to read the time- 12:01 am. What the hell? he wondered. "One new text" was written across the screen, so he opened it.
Happy New Year!!!! was written, from one Magnus Bane.
Alec sighed, but he knew that if he didn't reply Magnus would only keep texting. Interrupting his sleep. Thanks, he typed in quickly through a yawn. Now can I go back to sleep?
The reply came only seconds later. Sleep?! Alec could almost hear the scandalous tones in the word. Is that what you do on New Years?
Alec sighed, but he had to admit that he was amused. …Yes… he replied.
He could almost feel the sigh that went along with the next message. Sometimes I wonder why I love you, little shadowhunter. Alec rolled his eyes at the drama- he knew it wasn't true.
What do you do, then? I'd like to know what I'm missing.
Throw wild, extravagant parties that every downworlder (and half the shadowhunters) in the New York area want to attend? Of course. Even your sister is here.
Isabelle? Damn. She wasn't supposed to sneak out, but Alec didn't think she'd be caught. She rarely ever was. Why wasn't I invited?
Your invitation was extended from Isabelle's, darling. She said she told you.
Alec remembered back to that morning in the kitchen, when Isabelle had been waving a piece of paper in front of his face. Oh… is that what that was? Sorry.
That's alright, Alec.
Alec yawned once more. So… Happy New Year. Can I go back to sleep now?
You're really going to sleep on New Years?
…Yes…. I'm tired, Magnus.
If you wish. Goodnight, darling. But Alec was already asleep with his phone in his hand, the dim light from the screen illuminating his face.
The screen's light blinked off and all was peaceful once more in Alec's room as the teenage shadowhunter slept.
Across town the warlock toasted the New Year and began to wonder just why he had thrown this party anyways…
