A bright star is shining
By Bilbo Baggins
A bright star is shining
On western shore
A bright star is shining
There forevermore
A white ship is sailing
Under the star
A white ship is sailing
It came from afar
The lady is shining
At the ship's prow
The lady is shining
A star on her brow
The hobbits are waiting
For the blessed land
The hobbits are waiting
To see the white sand
The clouds they are breaking
The rain turns to glass
The clouds, they are breaking
The shadow has passed
The night, it is leaving
The sun will now shine
The night, it is leaving
And peace will be mine
The mountain is rearing
In light of the sun
The mountain is rearing
Arien has come!
The boats are now docked
The sea is behind us
The boats are now docked
They'll always remind us
Of over the seas
From whence we have come
Of over the seas
Our journey is done
Of course this poem is not by Bilbo, it is by me, and is my impression of a poem that he might have written while he sailed across the sea to Valinor
The bright star – the star of Eärendil the mariner
The lady – Galadriel
The hobbits – Frodo and Bilbo
The mountain – Taniquetil, where Manwë and Varda (the greatest Valar) dwell
Arien – A Maia ('lesser god') who caries the sun through the skies
I'm sorry that there are no verses in this poem, but it hasn't uploaded exactly how I wanted. If you have any ideas on how to fix this then please review and tell me!
Oh and please review. I may add more, or I may not. You choose!
