-Battering Ram-

-A Tribute to Battletech-

I do not own the Battletech franchise, nor do I own the song Battering Ram by Iron Savior

Riding on a tidal wave
of energy and sound

crashing through the barrier
the sonic bang will pound
and as the wind is blowing in
the mighty storm is setting in

rise - and lift me up to
where the thunder rolls

A lord of the battlefield. The very earth trembles under each mighty footfall. Men rushed out to meet the giant in combat. Massive fireballs blasted from red hot barrels to unleash death. Crimson light turned flesh and steel to a mist.

On pillars of crimson fire, it rose into the night sky. Sleek shapes swooped at transonic speeds to pelt the metal hide, but it was in vain. Darts of emerald fire appeared through the smoke of the burning vehicles to smite the frail things from the sky.

static in the air
charging everywhere
ready to ignite
to take a thunder-ride
we are hunting the eye of the storm
by a power deep within it we are drawn
taking a ride on the storm
let it push you to the limits to bang
like a battering ram

The men returned to throw themselves against their invader. Blue bolts of captured lightning struck unmoving legs. The armor melted away under the onslaught. Red rivulets of metal dripped along the gouged legs. The thing crushed them under its legs. Another red beam pierced the night. The shoulder of the giant held before the tide of energy before being blown through. Two giants met in combat.

muscles all contorted
as the blood begins to boil
taken by titanic force
brought to native soil
and as the wind begins to howl
the storm is taking on control
rise - and lift you up to
where the thunder rules

The black tubes of artificial muscles pounded to make the two titanic machines meet each other. A hail of explosive projectiles filled the air fro one side. Smoking rockets hurtled toward the other from the second. They began to circle, trading shots.

with the wind in the rear
onto the stratosphere
the engine did ignite
to take a thunder-ride.

They sprinted behind houses and forests and hills. All were blown apart by the weapons of the metal men. The two weapons of war fired everything they had. The second, the defender, was nearly destroyed. Coolant ran down the ruined torso. It charged.

rise - and lift me up to
where the thunder rolls
with the wind in the rear
we are hunting the eye of the storm

The first fired the crimson beams once more, digging into the already mangled chest. Still, it fought on. The momentum carried it forward. Tons of metal met and sparks flew. The contained might of a sun burst forth. The lives of two humans ended.

bang like a battering ram
to bang like a battering ram
unleashing the force of the storm
to bang like a battering ram
