A.N. I was bored and kinda super excited about the New Year so this thing was typed up.

Anyways here's the story
It was a normal day at HQ, with everyone working on the Kira case in the quiet until..."Can we go home early to celebrate the New Year with our family Ryuzaki?" Mastuda asked completely out of the blue. Putting his thumb to his lips to bite his nail, L looks up at the ceiling carefully thinking about it, than he looks at the clock on his computer screen and sees that it's 11:30. "Yes I suppose you could, we haven't had a lead in days and we could all use a break." A few 'thank yous' (and one hug from Matsuda) later everyone was cleared out of building leaving L and Light alone.
"Well it's only 25 minutes till New Years, what do you want to do" asked Light looking at L with a completely bored expression on his face.
"We could watch the ball drop on TV and maybe drink some wine" L replied getting up and heading towards the kitchen. Following behind him Light couldn't help but stare at L. He always knew he had feelings toward the insomniac but he never knew how to tell the other man. Coming out of his thoughts by a yank on the chain, Light looks at L as he puts a butter knife to the lid of the blood red wine bottle and with years of practice pops the lid off. Going over to the cupboard the burnett pulls out to wine glasses and the duo head to the couch and turn on the TV.
"Hay Ryuzaki have you ever heard the legend of the New Years kiss" asked Light blushing softly.
Slowly turning his head to face Light he replies "Not really would you mind giving me a brief explination on the matter"
"Well" Light begains slowly "right when the clock stricks 12 if a couple kiss it's supposed to be good luck for the rest of the year"
"Do you believe it to be true" L asks looking back at the TV.
"OK it's time to start the count down to midnight!"
Light: "Iv'e never tried it"

A.N Yea still pretty new to this sort of thing so of course if would come out cheesy.
I have know idea if they watch the ball drop in Japan or if the New Years Kiss is real as far as I no it ain't so yea if it is could someone inform me of it so I can say I didn't make it up and get sued.
