Madness

((my first Enishi-themed poem! It focuses on the Jinchuu arc, so there may be hintage of spoilers. Enjoy it anyway! And, Enishi Yukishiro still belongs to Nobuhiro Watsuki, though in my dirty little mind, we're happily married. Haha! ))

It was after the final battle
That the Jinchuu would come
But Kenshin had no idea
That there was someone out for revenge.

His name is Enishi,
And you'll soon know why
He wants to bring down Jinchuu
On this unsuspecting red-haired wanderer.

He lies in the shadows,
Waiting for the perfect time,
To catch Kenshin unawares
And do exactly what he did, way back in the Bakumatsu, this time, to Kaoru.

But first, the Six Comrades meet up
Somewhere in Yokohama
Where their presence is made known
In Enishi's supposed "summer residence".

After he gives the signal,
The other four strike,
Leaving Gein behind, with Enishi,
To make his coveted masterpiece- a corpse doll.

Kujiranami takes out the Akabeko,
With that cannon mounted on what's left of his arm,
With one well-aimed shot
That reduces it to smoldering rubble.

Kenshin then suspects
That it has something to do with his past,
The past with Tomoe,
And his conclusion arrives to one person: Enishi.

He takes a walk
All around the city
And as he returns to the Kamiya Dojo when the sun sets,
He sees the thing he has been fearing all his life.

"Kenshin."
This line shakes him to the core
As Enishi smirks, Kenshin stares in shock
And the whole story comes out.

How Enishi survived in Shanghai,
How he came out on top of every mafia there was,
Howe he suffered in a land that took away his identity,
How he planned his revenge on his eventual return to Japan...

As Kenshin listens, in shock,
Enishi yells at him, "You have no right!"
If you ask me what that right was,
It was the one to speak to Tomoe's spirit.

He hears words in the wind
But it's words of hate
As Kenshin walks away, Enishi says,
"Ten days, Kenshin. Ten days. Then Jinchuu will find you."
