One summer…
Seifer walked across the cobbled streets of Timber, the first place the train stopped at. He was over sixteen now, so he could go anywhere he wanted for the summer. He dropped his bag and surveyed his surroundings. "…not bad"
The town was small; the capital of the country of the same name. It was ruled over by Galbadia… Vinzer Deling was the president.
And they told him he never paid attention in geography!
He looked down at his watch. Ten-thirty. Time for a spot of breakfast.
He paced down the main street, smiling at cute girls that walked past… he knew they liked him.. He was the cutest guy in Garden after all! He had a reputation to keep up!
He carried on smiling at a dark girl as he walked round the corner… suddenly someone crashed into him.
"Hey, watch it!" snarled the figure who was dusting herself off…
A girl. And an okay-looking one at that. "Sorry for that" he said in his sweetest voice, flashing his killer smile. "I'm new round here and I'm still trying to get my.. Bearings…" he concluded after eyeing up one of her companions.
She looked up, scowling. "Yeah, well you should still look where you're going!" her scowl soon evaporated at his smile. "So… what's your name anyway?"
"Seifer Raziel Almasy, at your service ma'am!" he pronounced, taking a bow as her friends giggled behind her. "And Who might you be?"
She looked him dead in the eye. She didn't know if she liked him yet… maybe he would grow on her.
"Rinoa" she said coldly, walking past him. "Maybe I'll see you around."
He smiled at her blushing friends as they followed her down the road… Rinoa…
"Damn" he muttered under his breath as he watched her disappear into the crowds of holidaymakers. "I didn't ask her where the nearest hotel was!"
Rinoa looked out over the town from her room. It wasn't much; a single bedroom and a bathroom, but at least she wasn't living with that man Careaway.
She looked out of her only window down over the town. The communications centre, the pub, the old timber maniacs place, the hotel…
The hotel. Would Seifer be staying there?
"Rinoa? Where's the rent, Rinoa?"
"I've got it, Mrs Xanon, I swear, I just have to wait for my check to come through…"
She looked down again as the hammering on the door got louder. Carefully she slipped on her boots and went towards the window.
She might as well look for him.
