They say falling in love hurts. But Brittany doesn't think thats true at all. At least, not falling in love with Santana. And Brittany would know, because she's cried over scraped knees and having her braces tightened and even over a broken wrist but she's never felt anything but love and warmth from Santana.
Like for example, even when they were little, anytime she's cried during the time that she's known Santana, its never been because of Santana; actually Santana has always been there to kiss away the pain and punish anyone who would try and hurt her. And she thinks that Santana will always continue to be there, protecting her like some overgrown angry lion. Not that she needs protection anyways, but still, Brittany thinks it's cute.
Brittany's been in love with Santana perhaps since the first time that they met, which feels like a lifetime ago, she could never imagine a life without Santana really, and Santana shared her box of brand new crayons with her, which came as a surprise because Santana never shared anything with anyone, and she liked to push around the boys like Noah and Kurt before stealing their toys.
But there she was, shy smiles looking down at pointed toes muttering, "We can share if you want" and by lunch time Brittany had already given Santana half her turkey sandwhich and Santana had given her her lime jello, which was still her favorite flavor.
Or the first time that Brittany told Santana "I love you" and yeah okay they had said they were practicing for the boys, but that was when they were 12 and they were 16 now and Brittany knew the game was up and really they were doing it for themselves because they enjoyed it too much and they really only belonged to each other. And the boys never really appeared, not like it mattered.
She had said it as she was naked straddling Santana, and her lips tasted like apples as Santana's fingers kept working inside her, and maybe it came as a slip of the tongue, yet it was honest; and Brittany soon forgot much of everything else, as her world exploded, the only solid thing was Santana beneath her, eyes dark with lust.
It took Santana a whole six months to say "I love you too" back to Brittany, in the locker rooms after Cheerios practice but she didn't really mind because while Santana may have been great at chemistry, english wasn't her strongest suit. And anyways its not like it wasn't something Brittany didn't already know.
They walked out the locker room door that day not with their pinkies linked but with fingers laced as they were holding hands, and Brittany thought the weight of Santana's hand against her own was just perfect.
Or for example, now that they were in college Santana would be the one to always wake up first and put on a pot of coffee - except on weekends when they walked down to the cafe hand in hand to sit in the comfy chairs reading the paper - and then press kisses to Brittany's naked back, humming gently in the back of her throat until Brittany would wake up, bleary eyed and in love and with the biggest smile Santana's ever seen.
Brittany may not have been the smartest at a lot of things, but of Santana she was an expert, and Brittany could tell you that Santana was the best most cuddliest sweetest smartest passionate person to ever fall in love with, and that she was one lucky girl to have Santana.
But don't even think of trying to steal Santana away from her, not that she doesn't already know Santana would never leave Brittany's side, or else Brittany'd have to cut a bitch.
