Beneath the Magnolia Tree
Albino Kitsune
As I lay here
Beneath the Magnolia tree
My claws figuring its soft white flower
My mind wanders
Kagome
Kikyo
Oh my suffering heart
Must deal with this dilemma
Kikyo was first
She introduced the balm
To soften my hardened soul
The hardened soul resulting from the
Tortures of humans and youkai alike
But you accepted me
Unlike all the creatures
That shunned me because of my pedigree
I was to become human
And live by your side forever
Not only that
But I would finally belong somewhere
No longer would I have to live the accursed
Life of a hanyou
However
That is only a dream of the past
The moment your arrow pierced my heart
My soul hardened again
The mortal gashes upon your back
Weaved vengeance through your soul
That no balm would ever cure
Our sufferings resurfaced
All the result of petty jealousy
Oh how a loathe the creature
Who resides on petty emotions
That destroyed our love
As my claws rub the bleached petal
My thoughts turn to Kagome
The second balm of my life
Her likeness to Kikyo uncanny
None the less
She is not Kikyo
Her soul not tainted with the glow of
Vengeance
Her balm for my soul softened it so
That I fear it will melt into the soil
Her eyes so much brighter
Filled with infectious joy
Spreading into my heart
Not only does her happiness infect me
But her understanding
And forgiveness
That has lured me
For some time now
I fell in love with you
For my first had vanished from this world
Then she came back
My dear Kikyo
But now my soul is trapped
Caught between my lovers souls
As I lay her under the Magnolia tree
I battle an internal war
On whom my heart
Should belong to
Well, that it, comments please, and read Kitsune Memories too!
