Eli's POV
Twist kept firing Ghouls. I countered them with my slugs, but he was still beating me.
"You ready, Burpy?" I whispered and loaded him as he chirped a yes. I shot him upwards and immediately shot a slug that made a huge crack in the ground behind Twist. I just wish I knew how deep it was, but I was too far away to tell. Burpy did a flip in mid air and then charged Twist. Twist fired more Ghouls at Burpy, but Burpy breathed fire and did a barrel roll. The flame twisted and exploded at contact with the other slugs.
Twist backed up. Burpy chased him until he fell into the crack behind him. I rushed over and peered over the edge. It was deeper than I thought. Twist was lying on the ground, hugging his arm. I told my Arachnet slug to get him. My Arachnet slug shot a web and pulled Twist back up. When I pictured beating Twist in my head, it was a lot less gruesome and painful. I loaded him on the back of my Mecha and took him back to the hideout.
"What's Twist doing here?" Kord asked.
"He... got hurt," I said.
"So, you want us to help him?" Trixie said. I nodded.
"Why?" Kord asked.
"I don't know," I answered.
"Eli, if you're going to fight Blakk you can't heal him when he's injured," Trixie said.
"Then I just won't use that trick that I used on Twist."
"It won't matter. In the end, someone will get hurt just as much if not more than Twist."
"What if I make Blakk surrender before he gets hurt?"
"Blakk will never surrender, you know that."
"So you won't help him?" I asked, my hope vanishing.
"No. Eli, you need to be able to handle this kind of stuff when you fight against Blakk," Trixie said, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"But we have to help him!"
"You can't be soft on the enemy!"
"But-"
"NO, we're not helping him and that's final." It was then I lost my temper.
"All I want is peace in Slugterra!" I exclaimed. "I want to help people. Twist was simply doing business! If you won't help him, I will!" Trixie and Kord were taken aback by my outbreak.
"Eli," Trixie said gently when I turned to go to my room. I spun around, glaring at her.
"What," I said coldly, a little more coldly than I wanted it to be.
"If helping Twist means that much to you, then we'll help you help him," she said. My glare softened.
"Thanks," I said softly.
