Author's note: The fluff is real in this one, lol. Basically, I wanted to do a sweet Boyf Riends one shot and this is the product of my mind. So without further ado, I hope you enjoy the story. Oh, and by the way, Jeremy and Michael are Twelve years old in this story.
Jeremy Heere yawned as the bus doors flew open on a cold December day, he climbed onto the school bus, relieved that winter break started in a few days.
"Jeremy!" His best friend, Michael called from the back row of the vehicle, headphones lying around his neck, a huge smile adorned on his face. Jeremy managed a small smile before making his way over to Michael.
"Man, you don't look so good," The other boy stated as Jeremy dropped his school bag on floor by his feet, he sat down beside Michael.
"Yeah, I know," Jeremy said, "I haven't been able to get much sleep lately.."
Jeremy had a far off look in his eyes, Michael noticed, for the past couple of years Jeremy's parents hadn't been getting along too well, suddenly they were screaming and fighting all the time, and most of the time, Jeremy heard the arguments, heard glass breaking and then frustrated sobs echoing through the house. He didn't talk about it much but Michael knew it bothered him, often times Michael sought after ways that he could get Jeremy's mind off the war zone back home, mostly it worked, if only for a short while.
"Hey, Jer, you wanna stay at my place tonight?" Michael asked, his tone chipper. Jeremy smiled, a sleepy smile, but nonetheless, a smile.
"Sure," he yawned again. "So what is this stupid bus going to again?" Michael shrugged.
"I don't know, some stupid art exhibit, all I know is that winter break is coming up, so for now the world could end and I'd be okay."
Michael said, Jeremy laughed, Michael decided that, that sound was the prettiest thing he'd ever heard, unknowingly he blushed.
"Your face is red," Jeremy said with a laugh,
Michael's hands flew up to his cheeks, that was weird, must be because of how cold it is outside, he figured. Here lately Michael had began to feel weird around his best friend, he began noticing the freckles on his cheeks and they way he smiled or laughed, or how his voice cracked at certain times. It was slowly beginning to ruin Michael's life, because he couldn't think or do anything seemingly straight around the boy.
Having been lost in thought, Michael almost didn't notice the sudden weight on his shoulder, he turned his head and saw Jeremy's head lying on his arm, his eyes closed, and breathing slowly. He smiled softly at the sleeping Jeremy on him, he looked so peaceful and happy while he slept, he was so beautiful to Michael this way, Michael sighed contently as he laid his own head against Jeremy's and closed his eyes.
Jeremy might be ruining his life, but Michael wouldn't have it any other way.
