Wounds of the Heart
A wound of the body certainly bleeds and appears
Painful. But as time elapses, the pain
Will fade on its own, leaving only a stain
In the soul which will inevitably clear.
What is troublesome, I fear,
Are the wounds of the heart, that bind like a chain,
Those that do not disappear make it hard to keep sane
And sometimes they never heal, year after year.
There is just one thing, I'm sure,
To ease the wounds of the heart, none other
As innocent and pure as a dove.
Regretfully, it's a bothersome cure,
You can only receive it from another
The gift of eternal warmth, love.
A/N: An Italian Sonnet I wrote three years ago, based on Gaara's childhood.
(I know it lacks some elements of an Italian Sonnet, but bear with me)
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
