She wasn't suicidal; people presumed that she was because she wore black clothes and could be rather harsh when she wanted to be.
She couldn't pretend like she didn't hear the snickers throughout school.
"No wonder her parents like Piper better; I mean, look at her."
"Eddie's just going out with her out of pity. Trust me, no one could actually date that thing."
There was a little voice inside of her head telling her that she was being shallow and stupid; those girls were ditzy idiots.
But she couldn't help but feel a sting as the words played over and over again in her mind.
She slowly got up off her bed and walked over to the mirror, observing herself.
Stop it! She scolded herself.
This isn't you.
But what girl didn't feel worthless at one time or another?
She wasn't herself; this girl, wanting to end her life over something so stupid.
But she couldn't help it. Despair overwhelmed her and clouded her thoughts.
Maybe...
No, she told herself firmly.
Don't be so selfish. Think about Eddie, and your friends. What would they do if you died?
They would be sad, she decided.
Or maybe relieved, that she was finally out of the way...
Okay, enough of this. Not the time for mental debates. My choice is made.
She quietly walked to the bathroom, and grabbed her make-up bag.
She always had an extra stash of Tylenol, in case she ever had any headaches that she was so used to getting.
Trudy would kill her if she knew she had it.
She always wanted to be in control over everybody's medicine, so no 'accidents' ever happened.
Accidents. As in, overdosing.
Strange, the house seemed so quiet. It was usually buzzing with some new couple or Sibuna clue.
With a shaky hand, she opened the small bottle and took out a pill. Then two. Three. Four. Five, six, seven.
She brought them up to her mouth, poured the first three in...
And memories flashed through her mind. The endless Sibuna adventures, her friends, her sister...Eddie. Her boyfriend, who loved her.
She spit out the pills, and they hit the floor with a slight thud.
Before she could change her mind, she dashed down the stairs and into the living room.
Eddie was sitting on the couch, watching TV, his feet up on the table.
"Hey, Yack-Patricia? What's wrong?"
She didn't know how he could tell until she realized there were tears streaming down her cheeks.
Eddie stood up, walked over to her, and wiped some of the tears away.
"I just- I can't...I'm sorry."
She gasped out, sobbing, and Eddie wrapped her in a tight hug.
"Shhh...It'll be alright. You're okay."
He tried to make her feel better, but she shook her head.
"No, y-you don't understand. Eddie...I tried to kill myself."
Her words hit him like an icy knife cutting through his heart.
This incredible girl, heck, scratch that, woman that stood in front of him tried to commit suicide?
"Oh God...Patricia..." He couldn't get the words out.
Tears started streaming down his face as well, still in shock that a girl this amazing would ever try to do something like this.
He hugged her tighter then he'd ever done before, and he swore to himself that he'd never let her go.
Just a short, kinda depressing one-shot. Hope you enjoyed!
