Sirius is always portrayed as the tough, funny guy. I decided to delve a little deeper into his feelings about Lily and James.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. I wish I did...
Honestly, he had always been jealous of her. As soon as James set eyes on her, Sirius knew he had a problem. At least, he reasoned, such a beautiful, smart goody-two shoes would never fall in love with a goofy prankster like James.
His reasoning seemed correct at first. Lily absolutely despised James. She took any opportunity to make snide remarks about his hair or personality. She thought she was slick, but who was it who stayed up until 2 o'clock in the morning with the despairing Marauder? That's right. Good old Padfoot.
Then gradually, things changed. James became impossibly mature, which of course, pleased Lily, and infuriated Sirius. His fellow Marauder, becoming a gentleman? Horrible! Lily screwed up Sirius's entire life. James used to be a Marauder. Now, he was Lily's boyfriend and a Marauder. Those to things were like oil and water, Sirius decided.
Sirius tried to hate Lily. He really did. She had taken away his best mate, his brother! But she was so damn nice and pretty and down to earth, he couldn't help but love her just as much as James did. He could hardly find a fault in the Red-Haired Wonder. She was as close to perfect as a woman could get.
Sirius decided that her perfection was a good thing. After all, his best mate, brother, and Marauder deserved only the best.
My oneshots are always so short! Hopefully they'll grow to be longer. Hope you like it!
